IBhetshu likaZulu Honour Mthwakazi Heroes

Bulawayo pressure group, IBhetshu likaZulu held a Heroes' Day commemmoration for Mthwakazi Heroes in Bulawayo. Those remembered as heroes included the likes of Gwesela according to Qhubekani Dube, the Director of the group.
The memorial was held at Amakhosi Cultural Centre in Bulawayo and brought together former Zipra commanders, Bulawayo residents and members of Ibhetshu lika Zulu.
Dube said that there is need to honour Mthwakazi heroes because of the way they have been sidelined by the Zanu (PF) led government. He said the heroes honoured included King Mzilikazi, King Lobengula and modern day heroes like Mthandazo Ndema Ngwenya and Lookout Masuku.
In 2007 Ibhetsu likaZulu held a memorial for the Matabeleland Genocide at the Bulawayo Cathedral on the anniversary of the deployment of the Fifth Brigade.

This is a wonderful development to honour our own heroes and for sure and for sure Qedu Nyathi ( who commanded Matojeni as Lobengula's right hand military comannder) is included and allheroes known and unknown .I think we should have our own tomb of the unknown soldiers , our heroes who fought hard for this Mthwakazi of ours . Vumani Mandebele!

This is quiet disturbing that a person like Gwesela is perceived as a hero,how could he when thousands of civilians were masscared during his dissident reign. I seek clarification! Why not honour Njini Ntuta- Insuza Mp who got killed for revealing the identity of who was behind the death of the six british tourist along the Victoria falls road.

Ye maNdebele, kuhle ukluncoma umsebenzi owenziwe yiqembu lika Bhetshu kodwa singami khonapho. Kasi sekeleni imzamo yabo nge material resources abazifunayo ukuze baqhubeke kuhle. Kufuneka imali, ipetulo, ukudla,icomputers, ama printer etc kasibancedeni singabi ngabakhuluma nje kuphela.

A lot is going on in the land of Mzilikazi and I can assure you that we have let our fore fathers down, their victories that we have so easily given away to Shonas. Right now they have clearly shown us that it has never been about us . They have concluded that they have come together and shared the so caled power. I see we have slowly been thrown out of the picture and you can rest assured its going to be tough for the nation of Mzilikazi to find its feet again.

am a proud ndebele father who was not detered by either zanu-pf and difficulties of the economy. know how many children i have eight. just wait seven boys and one girl. three university graduates and thers are still at school.call it what ever but am proud ndebele man. by the way am a mere rural area teacher and now am bases e-goli.

I am Ndebele but I'm shocked by the blatant tribalism in your paper. Did the editor go to school? Is he sane...Are you really OK upstairs Mr Editor. I think it's stupid in this day and age to come up with a paper dedicated to promoting tribalism. Who are the real Ndebeles anyway?
